Join Sarah Hamelin in this class will change your throwing forever! Designed to hone your throwing skills and clock in your hours of guided practice on the wheel to help build muscle memory.
In this class, we will be throwing, throwing, throwing! We will learn how to improve our centering, master the cylinder, add volume to bowls to maximize capacity, and efficiently trim to achieve lighter pots with professional foot rings. We'll cover:
- Troubleshoot your centering
- Practicing cylinders, in order to turn into any shape
- Train your hands and practice making multiples efficiently
- Trim items to remove weight and add appropriate footrings
- Discuss as a group our finished pieces and the analysis of a "well-made pot"
- Learn how to wedge and recycle clay again for throwing
Additional material cost is $50 for clay.
Firings are not included, unless a member of the CSC or an ongoing KCP student.
