Throwing & Beyond - 6 Weeks - Evenings

Let's practice our throwing, trimming, and beyond! We'll perfect each step of the process and even try out different forms for the curious.
- Learn and practice multiple days on the potter’s wheel, practicing the basics, and turning them into various different shapes and forms
- Trim your work and learn techniques to add handles, spouts and embellishments
- Experiment making altered forms on the wheel, such as ovals and squares
- Decorate your pieces with glaze combinations and handpainting with underglaze
Class Schedule
Week 1-2: Throwing
We will jump on the wheel and practice making bowls and cylinders, that can be turned into just about anything!
Week 3: Trimming
We will learn how to trim various shapes and how to add handles, spouts and decoration.
Week 4: Throwing
Experiment with different shapes on the wheel, or take on a new project of your choice.
Week 5: Trimming & Assembly
Finishing week! Trim, assemble, and clean up all your work to be ready for our final Glaze Day!
[We take a 1 week break in order to prepare for the glaze class]
Week 6: Glaze
Learn how to prepare pots for glazing and experiment with different colour combinations and techniques. All your pieces will come out of the kiln food-safe and ready to use!
